It is that time of year again. The time of year when snow covers the ground and winter’s chilled touch nips at the tips of everyone’s nose. It is the holiday season, the season of joy, the season of laughter and thanks, and, most importantly for any eager child or proud parent, the season of giving.
Christmas is the time of year when store shelves empty in the blink of an eye, the time of year when doors open and close as millions of chilled shoppers escape the cold to appease their Christmas lists. It is everyone’s favorite time of year, and it is also the time of year when companies place their best on the market.
Hot Christmas tech changes every year, but no matter how cold the winter winds may blow, or how much snow may fall, the hottest Christmas gifts will still fly off of the shelves. A few years ago it was the iPod, last year the iPad, but this year a new gadget will take the stage at the top of the list of best Christmas gifts for 2011.
The Kindle Fire

A couple years ago, the Kindle revolutionized the way people read books. It took the millions upon millions of books floating around in today’s world and, using the internet, gave Kindle users access to every last page. It allowed avid readers to hold thousands of works in their hands, and to scour the pages of thousands of books by thousands of different authors, all without once having to actually turn a page. The Kindle was among last year’s top Christmas gifts, but this year Kindle will look to take the top spot with the brands newest edition, the Kindle Fire.
The Kindle Fire is everything a book lover could ever want. While earlier Kindles possessed colorless screens and few capabilities when compared to rivals such as the iPad, the Kindle Fire has solved those problems. Sporting a full color, 7 inch multi-touch display in vivid detail, the Kindle Fire has revolutionized the electronic reader. That, however, is but a fraction of the improvement made in what is sure to be this year’s top Christmas gadget.
Missing in earlier Kindles, the Kindle Fire has the ability to connect to wireless networks along with the ability to stream and play not only books but videos and games as well. On top of that, the Kindle Fire also comes with Amazon’s ultra-fast, revolutionary new web browser and a new and improved dual-core processor that makes searches and downloads quicker and easier than ever. In all, the Kindle Fire has taken Kindle out of the realm of electronic readers and into the realm of the full blown tablet.
To be released on November 15, 2011, the Kindle Fire will aim to be the hottest selling gadget of the 2011 Christmas season, and will likely reach the mark. A great Christmas gift that is sure to light up the eyes of recipients of all ages, the new and improved Kindle Fire will surely prove a beacon of warmth for millions in this cold, frosty season.
